∞ Infinity

The ∞ symbol has the meaning Infinity. It belongs to the category Mathematical Symbols. It is also known as Endlessness and Boundlessness. The ∞ symbol symbolizes the potential infinity, especially in mathematics. Infinity is ultimately the opposite of finitude. It is often used in the interval notation to denote an infinite interval.
Here is a small example: [-5;+∞)
It is all numbers from -5 (included) to +infinity.

Furthermore, the infinity sign is used in differential calculus to specify a limit. For example, for x versus infinity, the equation y = x² (Superscript Two Symbol) is also y towards infinity, because for example, for x = 100000, y = 10000000000.

Here is a video about Hilbert’s Paradox of the Grand Hotel:

But now enouth with mathematics. The Infinite Symbol also stands for a vicious circle or a paradox, in tarot cards it also has the meaning »wholeness«. The infinite sign can also be used to say, for example:

  • “∞ best friends”
  • “The way is ∞long”
